Two members of Cuba's UN mission asked to leave US - State Dept.

WASHINGTON, Sept 19 (KUNA) -- The US announced Thursday that two members of Cuba's UN mission have been asked to leave due to engaging in "activities harmful to US national security." State Department Spokesperson Morgan Ortagus tweeted "after two members of Cuba's UN mission engaged in activities harmful to US national security, we asked them to leave." She added that "Members of Cuba's UN mission are also restricted to stay in Manhattan." "We take any and all attempts against the National Security of the US seriously," she stressed.
Cuba has been under increased pressure from the US, where President Donald Trump threatened earlier this year to impose "a full and complete embargo," and "highest level sanctions" against Cuba over Venezuela. (end) si.ibi
