WASHINGTON, Sept 19 (KUNA) -- US President Donald Trump denied Thursday saying "something inappropriate" in a call with a foreign leader.
This comes as the Washington Post reported on Wednesday, citing former US officials, that Trump's communications with a foreign leader are part of a whistleblower complaint.
The paper noted that that "Trump's interaction with the foreign leader included a "promise" that was regarded as so troubling that it prompted an official in the US intelligence community to file a formal whistleblower complaint with the inspector general for the intelligence community," according to the former officials.
"Another Fake News story out there - It never ends! Virtually anytime I speak on the phone to a foreign leader, I understand that there may be many people listening from various US agencies, not to mention those from the other country itself. No problem!" Trump tweeted.
He stressed "knowing all of this, is anybody dumb enough to believe that I would say something inappropriate with a foreign leader while on such a potentially "heavily populated" call. I would only do what is right anyway, and only do good for the USA!"
"Presidential Harassment!" he remarked.
Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee Adam Schiff said in remarks after receiving a briefing on a whistleblower "I want to thank the whistleblower for coming forward, for having the courage to follow the procedures as they're written in law, to make a lawful disclosure to the Congress...of conduct that was gravely concerning to the whistleblower."
