Saudi MoD: 18 drones, 7 Cruise missiles used in attack on Aramco

RIYADH, Sept 18 (KUNA) -- Eighteen drones and seven Cruise missiles have been used in the attack which targeted two Aramco's oil facilities on Saturday, Saudi Defense Ministry said on Wednesday.
Speaking at a news conference, the ministry's spokesman Colonel Turki Al-Malki said the assault was not only on Saudi Arabia but also on the international community which should assume its responsibilities towards this attack.
He stressed there is evidence of Iran's involvement in carrying out sabotage acts in the region.
He argued that the "evidence indicates that the attack was not launched from Yemen but from the north with Iran's support".
Investigations are underway to determine the site from which the attack was launched on Aramco's facilities, Al-Malki said.
He considered that the incident is an extension of previous attacks on Saudi Arabia's infrastructure.
Al-Malki said that the whole world has realized the Iranian revolutionary guards' threats, and had to act to counter these dangers.
"We are working with the US and sharing security information," he said, expressing his confidence in identifying those responsible for the assault and holding them accountable.
He said the international community is responsible for halting Iran's terrorist acts.
Saudi authorities announced last Saturday that some drones targeted two facilities affiliated to Aramco. As a result a fire broke into the two facilities. (end) mdm.ams.hm
