Tunisia presidential elections record 42.5pct turnout - commission

TUNIS, Sept 15 (KUNA) -- Tunisia registered a 45.2 percent turnout as ballot boxes for the presidential elections were sealed shut on Sunday, the election commission said.
A total 7.75 million Tunisians, including 385,000 living overseas, headed to polling stations to cast their votes amid the country's second such contest since a 2011 uprising toppled former president Zine El Abidine Ben Ali.
Some 24 candidates, including two women, are vying for the post.
Hopefuls must secure a 50 percent vote in order to win, but if not, the two with the most votes will head to a second, crucial round. (pickup previous) ksj.sd
