KLIA operations almost back to normal

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 25 (KUNA) -- Operations at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), which has been hit by an IT systems disruption since Wednesday, is returning to normal after four days of delayed flights and long queues of passengers.
Following the system outage, Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) replaced network equipment, which failed on Wednesday night, causing the glitch, which affected the Flight Information Display System (FIDS), check-in-counters, the Baggage Handling Systems (BHS), and WiFi availability, it said in a statement.
Almost 1,000 of airport staff have been deployed to assist passengers, and worked around the clock to provide check-in assistance, information and comfort to frustrated passengers. (end) aab.nhq
