Int'l banking event to yield holistic sight - top Kuwait banker

KUWAIT, Aug 19 (KUNA) -- The International Banking Conference due on September 23 is chiefly intended to yield a comprehensive view of the industry's future and enrich dialogue with progressive and profound ideas, said Kuwait's top governor.
The Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK) is keen on securing the participation of experts in different aspects and fields of banking and finance, CBK Governor Mohammad Al-Hashel said in a statement on Monday.
The event, which will be held under the aegis of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, will bring together decision-makers and thought leaders from across the global financial services sector, he elaborated.
Banking industry leaders are among the many top-level executives and officials confirmed as speakers for the gathering, Al-Hashel boasted.
He listed participating regulators as Arab Saudi Monetary Authority (SAMA) Governor Ahmad Al-Kholifey, UAE Central Bank's Governor Mubarak Al Mansoori, Governor of the Central Bank of Bahrain Rasheed Al Maraj, Governor of State Bank of Pakistan Reza Baqir and Bank Negara Malaysia (Malaysia's central bank) Governor Datuk Nor Shamsiah.
Commending the level of speakers taking part in the conference, the CBK chief said that the discussions would produce a comprehensive view of the industry's future. (end) fnk.kda.mt
