Kuwait fire dept. says construction firms must follow fire safety standards

KUWAIT, Aug 18 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Fire Service Directorate urged the importance of companies involved in the construction of bridges to abide by fire prevention safety measures.
The step comes after a fire erupted at a construction site on the Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al-Nahyan major causeway, previously known as the Fifth Ring Road.
It comes after a meeting between KFSD Director-General Lt Gen Khaled Al-Mekrad and Public Authority for Roads and Transportation head Suha Ashkanani discussed ensuring safety at construction sites, a press statement by KFSD read. (end) ns.sd
