Kuwait sets up physical rehabilitation center in Sri Lanka

KUWAIT, July 25 (KUNA) -- Chairman of Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) Dr. Hilal Al-Sayer inaugurated on Thursday a center for physiotherapy and rehabilitation treatment in the Sri Lankan city of Jaffna.
Dr. Al-Sayer said in a statement during a ceremony for the occasion that Sabah Al-Ahmad Center for Physical Rehabilitation, affiliated to Jaffna Teaching Hospital, is a tangible example how Kuwait has always been present in the heart of regions where people are in bad need for help.
The center will provide care to amputees and car accidents' victims. Moreover, there will be a workshop for providing prosthetic limbs.
The project has been launched in response to a request by the Sri Lankan Ministry of Health that sensed the need for aid in light of large number of recurring car accidents in the city. (end) sh.rk
