Four Iraqi ministers referred to judiciary over corruption charges - PM

BAGHDAD, July 23 (KUNA) -- Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdulmahdi said Tuesday that four ministers have been referred to the judiciary over financial and administrative corruption charges.
Till mid-June, the total number of penal cases referred to trials for financial and administrative corruption charges in the country amounted to 1,267, while the number of the accused referred to courts reached 2,200, including four ministers, Abdulmahdi said in a press conference.
Furthermore, cases that are still under investigation for similar charges and same time-period have amounted to 4,117, including 3,202 summons to an interrogation, he added, noting that 11 ministers have been summoned. (end) ahh.ma
