Attacks kill 9 people, injure 24 others in northern Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, July 21 (KUNA) -- At least nine people were killed in attacks hitting Pakistan's northern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Sunday, said a security source.
Senior police officer Khan Saleem Riaz told media that unidentified gunmen on four motorcycles opened fire at Kotla Syedan police check post, killing two.
Meanwhile, a suicide blast took place at the hospital where the victims of the check post attack were shifted, he added.
Three civilians and four policemen were killed in the second attack while 24 others received injuries.
The official said that the suicide bomber allegedly appeared to be a woman and the attack seemed premeditated. (end) sbk.gta
