KUWAIT, July 20 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Handball Association (KHA) said Saturday it would be hosting the 19th Asian Handball Men's Championship on January 16-27, 2020, following the lifting of an international ban on Kuwait sport.
Qayed Al-Adwani, KHA's Secretary General, told KUNA the number of teams participating in the championship would be announced in September.
This will be the first continental championship hosted by Kuwait since the International Olympic Committee lifted a ban on Kuwait sport on July 5.
KHA has already began preparations for the Asian championship by forming the organizing committee.
Kuwait national handball team will hold a training camp abroad in preparation for the Asian tournament. (end)
