Iran says footage reveals US did not shoot down drone

TEHRAN, July 19 (KUNA) -- Iran's official media aired footage on Friday suggesting that an Iranian military drone the US says it shot down has landed safely at its airbase after scouting a US warship.
Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) described Washington's claim on Thursday as "lies" and "ridiculous," according to the Tehran-based Press TV.
The Iranian drone monitored USS Boxer, which was sailing through the Strait of Hormuz, "fully and precisely" for three hours, added the statement.
It detected "no unconventional and threatening action" on the part of warship or its five accompanying vessels.
Speaking to reporters on Thursday, President Donald Trump said the drone was shot down after it flew within 900m of USS Boxer, ignoring "multiple calls to stand down." (end) mw.sd
