CAIRO, July 16 (KUNA) -- Saudi Minister of Media Turki Al-Shabanah called for Arab media cooperation to draw regional and international attention to key issues in the Arab World.
The remarks came during the 11th session of the Council of Arab Information Ministers' Executive Office, held at the Arab League's General Secretariat on Tuesday.
He underlined the need to give Palestine-related news items a bigger space in Arab media in order to highlight the Palestinian demands, including an independent state with Jerusalem as the capital.
Meanwhile, the minister hailed the efforts of the Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU) and the Federation of Arab News Agencies (FANA) to share Palestine news with Europe, Asia and Africa.
On his part, Arab League's assistant secretary general for media affairs ambassador Bader Al-Deen Alali stressed the important role played by Arab media in facing terrorism.
He added that the current session will include approving an updated copy of the Arab media code of ethics. (end) mfm.ag
