KUWAIT, July 15 (KUNA) -- Kuwait government Monday formed a higher commission aimed at leading and coordinating the national strategy to promote integrity and fighting corruption.
The commission will be chaired by the Public Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha), with members from parliament, Supreme Judicial Council, Public Prosecution, ministries of justice, interior, finance, commerce and industry, education, higher education and information.
The commission will also consist of Civil Service Commission, Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Central Agency for Information Technology, Central Tenders Committee, private universities council, Capital Market Authority and Kuwait Transparency society, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affiars Anas Al-Saleh said in a statement after a cabinet meeting, chaired by His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.
He said the commission would supervise implementation of the strategy and change it when necessary.
Meanwhile the cabinet assigned the Public Authority for Agriculture and Fish Resources to rapidly distribute lots for fish and shrimp farming so operations would begin by August 30 maximum.
The government also decided to reduce to two years from three the period required for devircee woman to acquire renovation loan, and increased the loan to Kuwaiti Dinars 35,000 from KD 25,000 for government houses and KD 30,000 loan for private houses.
They approved trade and technical cooperation agreement with Dominican and cultural agreement with Mauritania.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah briefed the cabinet about recent visit by Federica Mogherini, EU's Foreign Policy chief, to Kuwait to open the EU delegation mission in the country.
He said Mogherini praised Kuwait's mediation efforts in regional crises.
The cabinet, on the other hand, condemned a train collision accident in Pakistan that killed and wounded many people.
It also condemned an armed attack on a hotel in southern Somalia. (end) bs
