KHARTOUM, July 12 (KUNA) -- The joint African-Ethiopian mediation announced on Friday that the Sudanese Transitional Military Council (TMC) and Forces of the Freedom and Change have reached a full agreement on the specific political declaration for all phases of the transitional period.
African Union (AU) mediator Mohamed El-Hassan Labat said at a press conference that the constructive proposals had been reached and would be included in the final document that will lead to the transition process.
The agreement consists of the formation of a sovereign council to be chaired periodically consisting of 11 members, including five soldiers and five civilian members in addition to a single civilian agreed upon by the two parties.
They also agreed to form an independent national commission of inquiry into the violence since April 11.
