KUWAIT, July 12 (KUNA) -- 1965 -- His Highness the Amir, Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, issued law 41/1965 on the municipality's assessment and evaluation of private real estate located in areas where the government intends to construct projects.
1967 -- His Highness the Amir, Sheikh Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, issued law 32/1967 stipulating that the Amir is the supreme commander of the armed forces and that the army is tasked with defending national borders and territory. The army is made up of land, navy, and air forces as well as various other military units.
1981 -- Abdullah Al-Nouri Charitable Society was declared.
1984 -- Actor Johar Salem, a pioneer of the Kuwaiti theater movement, passed away.
1986 -- His Highness the Amir, Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, issued Amiri Decree 44/1986 forming a new cabinet chaired by the Crown Prince and Prime Minister Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah.
1998 -- Kuwait Oil Tanker Company commissioned the 309,000-deadweight ton tanker, Al-Shigaya.
1998 -- The Society of Families of Kuwaiti Hostages and Detainees was declared.
2000 -- The National Assembly ratified the offshore demarcation agreement between Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
2003 -- Artist Abdullah Al-Qassar, a pioneer of the formative arts movement in Kuwait, passed away at age 62.
2004 -- Jazeera Airways announced its official establishment and elected seven members of the board. The airliner is set up at declared capital of KD 10 million.
2006 -- His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah inaugurated the first parliamentary session of 11th legislative term. Jassem Al-Kharafi was elected National Assembly Speaker and Dr. Mohammad Al-Busairi was elected his deputy. 2016 - Ministry of Finance signs a GIS project contracted with Zac Solutions company in partnership with consortiumof international companies with the value of 6,893,106 KWD for four years.
2018 - Kuwait Fund for economic development signed a loan agreement with Egypt worth 50 million KWD in financing water system bank.
2018 - Kuwait;s men athletic team achieved second place in the west Asian championship hosted by Jordan with seven golden medals. (end) gaa
