KUWAIT, July 5 (KUNA) -- Parliament Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim congratulated His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah after the International Olympic Committee (IOC) permanently lifted a ban on Kuwait sport on Friday.
Al-Ghanim, in a cable to His Highness the Amir, extended his congratulations on behalf of all parliament members.
His Highness the Amir, in a cable to Al-Ghanim, commended relentless efforts by legislative and executive authorities, members of the parliamentary Youth and Sport Committee, Ministry of State for Youth and the Public Authority for Sport which contributed to the lifting of the ban.
His Highness the Amir hoped the lifting of the ban would pave way for sport achievements at regional and international levels.
IOC's The Executive Board (EB) Friday fully lifted suspension of Kuwait Olympic Committee (KOC) as a result of the successful implementation of a roadmap agreed between all parties. (end)
