Arab children's theater festival begins next Tues.

KUWAIT, June 30 (KUNA) -- The seventh Arab children's theater festival will kick-start next Tuesday at Al-Dasma Theater until July 12, the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL) Sunday.
NCCAL's Assistant Secretary General Dr. Bader Al-Duweesh said in a statement that the festival would be held under the patronage of NCCAL's chairman as well as Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Minister of Information Mohammad Al-Jabri.
The event will include an honoring of actor Nasser Al-Zayer and will feature four plays, said Al-Duweesh, adding that theater workshops and other related events will be held during the course of the event.
On his part, NCCAL's theater affairs department's head Ahmad Al-Tattan revealed that the festival will include a side photo exhibition for the honored actor Al-Zayer and the history of festival since the first event held in Tunisia.
The aim of the festival is to spread awareness on the importance of Children Theater in spreading notions of culture and heritage, he added.
Al-Tattan said that the NCCAL was keen on filling the time of children especially during the summer vacation. (end) shd.gta
