ROMA, June 29 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's representative to the General Conference of Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO), Ali Al-Farsi on Saturday welcomed the results of the organization's General Conference, which enhanced the organization's mission and supported the sustainable development strategies in the world and the fruitful partnership with Kuwait and the Arab region.
Al-Farsi told KUNA on the conclusion of the 41st General Conference of the Organization that the participation of Kuwait has been successful and effective, especially with regard to the expression of vision and needs of the Arab region and the Near East.
He also remarked FAO's newly elected Director General Qu Dongyu confirmed his commitment to continue strengthening the Organization's support for Kuwait's ambitious policies and plans.
Kuwait is aiming to continue to establish the foundations of food and nutrition security by developing its productive sectors, especially agricultural, fisheries and livestock.
Al-Farsi pointed out that the Kuwaiti delegation participated actively in the various sub-committees of the conference, which started on June 22 and concluded recently. (end) mn.gaa
