Kuwait builds multi-purpose occasions' event hall in NE Egypt

CAIRO, June 25 (KUNA) -- The Director of the Kuwaiti Office for Charity Projects in Cairo Ismail Al-Kandari laid on Tuesday the cornerstone of a project to build Al-Bahar Mosque's Occasions Event Hall in the city of Damietta in northeastern Egypt.
The project is donated by Kuwaiti philanthropist Fouad Al-Ghanim, Al-Kandari stated to KUNA, adding the project's total costs is EGP 3.3 million, equaling USD 198,300, as part of Al-Ghanim's EGP seven million (USD 438,700) donation, with the remaining amount to be allocated for health and education projects in Egypt.
Al-Kandari expressed gratitude to Al-Ghanim's constant and continued cooperation in such philanthropic actions that contribute to the development and assist the needy ones in Egypt.
He also recalled the Kuwaiti philanthropist's support of the Kuwaiti Office's future vision, which aims to achieve further humanitarian and philanthropic actions inside the North African Arab country.
Al-Kandari also expressed Kuwait's keenness, government and people, to boost and back relationship with Egypt as part of maintaining the fraternal ties and joint interests between the two countries.
The cornerstone laying event was attended by Head of the Religious Sector at the Egyptian Awqaf Ministry Sheikh Jaber Tayeh, Chairman of the Religious Committee at the Egyptian Parliament Dr. Osama Al-Abd, and Secretary General of Damietta Governorate Essam Al-Leithy. (end) esm.ma
