WASHINGTON, June 20 (KUNA) -- US President Donald Trump said Thursday in a tweet "Iran made a very big mistake!" referring to the US drone that was shot down by Iran.
This comes as the White House is scheduled to hold a meeting on Iran later today.
US Special Representative for Iran and Senior Advisor to the Secretary of State, Brian Hook, is visiting Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Oman and Bahrain where he will discuss Iran and "share additional US intelligence on the range of active threats Iran currently poses to the region."
The Pentagon had announced earlier this week that the US is sending 1,000 additional troops to the Middle East "for defensive purposes."
Meanwhile, the White House said in a statement late Wednesday that Trump "has been briefed on the reports of a missile strike in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. We are closely monitoring the situation and continuing to consult with our partners and allies." (end)
