Iran experiences conditions worse than wartime - Oil Min.

TEHRAN, June 18 (KUNA) -- Iranian Minister of Oil Bijan Namdar Zangeneh on Tuesday admitted that his country was not able to sell its oil due to the US pressures.
"The current conditions are far worse than the conditions during the Iranian-Iraqi wartime (1980-1988)," the Iranian Students' News Agency (ISNA) quoted him as saying.
"During that time, we were able to export our oil under Iranian brand names, unlike today," he pointed out.
Today, Iran faces numerous difficulties in exporting its oil products. Even in case of being able to do so, it faces challenges in getting the oil revenues in addition to the problems of selling and buying other commodities, he explained.
The United States is working in all fields against the Iranian people, the minister said, affirming the resolve of his government to overcome the current challenges.
On May 8, 2018, the US unilaterally withdrew from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) on the Iranian nuclear program restored wide-ranging economic sanctions on the country in November.
In late April, US President Donald Trump announced that his administration would stop the waivers granted for eight countries to import Iranian oil in an effort to drive Iran's oil exports to zero. (end) mw.gb
