Arab media experts say no to violent content

CAIRO, June 18 (KUNA) -- A number of experts, including ones from Kuwait, have urged Arab media as a whole to eschew all content seen as carrying violent overtones.
"The media has the responsibility to spread and promote tolerance," said Fouzi Al-Ghuwail, who is in charge of technical safety at the Arab Council of Information Ministers.
The media can contribute towards entrenching such virtues as tolerance and forgiveness, he explained amid talks over "what role the media can play to keep the scourge of terrorism at bay." The official went on to say that youngsters should be the target demographic given their active presence on social media. (end) mfm.nam
