KUWAIT, June 17 (KUNA) -- Deputy Chairman of Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) Anwar Al-Hasawi affirmed Monday the commitment of the society to promote the culture of voluntary action and sense of social responsibility among people from all walks of life, particularly the children.
"Voluntary action is in integral part of Kuwait's policy for securing a better future for the young generation," he told reporters on the sidelines of the launching of the young volunteer club.
The club, themed "generation after generation for serving humanity," lasts until July 17 with 85 children taking part.
It aims to foster the skills of youngsters in such areas as field knowledge, orderly collective action, and taking the initiative in implementation of specific tasks in addition to recreational education.
"It's important to implant the values of philanthropic action, entrepreneurship and social responsibility in the hearts of youngsters from the early years of their age, and employ their energies in voluntary action in the framework of an educational system," Al-Hasawi pointed out.
Meanwhile, deputy director of the KRCS volunteers dept. Ahmad Al-Faq'an said the idea of the club aims to integrate the educational, recreational and practical aspects into the voluntary action.
A total of 107 supervisors and trainers take part in the club in addition to the organizing committee, he said, noting that the club accepts children of the age category of seven to 12 years.
Al-Faq'an added that the KRCS developed a range of programs geared at children with a view to enhancing their self-confidence and sense of social responsibility. (end) zh.msa.gb
