RAMALLAH, May 31 (KUNA) -- A Palestinian youth was killed and another was injured when Israeli troops opened fire on them west of Bethlehem, West Bank, said the Palestinian Health Ministry Friday.
The ministry said in a press release that Abdullah Lu'ai, 16, was shot dead by Israeli troops while another 21-year-old Palestinian was injured.
According to eyewitnesses, Israeli troops stationed in a checkpoint east of Bethlehem opened fire to prevent Palestinians from entering Jerusalem and praying at Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Israel prohibits people under 40 years old from entering and performing prayer at Al-Aqsa Mosque. (end)
