Five Iraqis dead, eight wounded in car bomb in Mosul

IRBIL, May 26 (KUNA) -- Five Iraqi citizens were killed and eight others injured when a car bomb exploded west of Nineveh province in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul.
In a statement, Iraqi security source said that the explosion took place in the market of Al-Awainat village in Nineveh province on Sunday, killing and wounding 13 Iraqis.
A month ago, a car bomb exploded in the cultural district of central Mosul, killing one civilian and wounding 13 others.
The Iraqi forces and Peshmerga forces have carried out military campaigns against the remnants of the so-called Islamic State (IS) in the province of Nineveh. (end) sbr.aa
