Iraqi court sentences three French nationals to death

BAGHDAD, May 26 (KUNA) -- An Iraqi court on Sunday sentenced three French nationals to death for joining the so-called Islamic state (IS).
A judicial source told KUNA that the three French men have one month to appeal the verdict delivered by an anti-terror court.
The Syrian Democratic Forces had handed over to the Iraqi authorities 14 Frenchmen who were arrested inside Syria fighting for the IS group.
The Supreme Judicial Council made public a few weeks ago the confessions of the 14 detainees, mostly of Arab origin, including a former soldier in the French army. (end) ahh.aa
