BAGHDAD, May 25 (KUNA) -- Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi discussed with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif ways to spare the region the dangers of war.
Both sides discussed regional and international situations and how to spare the two countries and the region sanctions and war risks, a governmental statement said Saturday.
The two sides stressed the importance of establishing security and stability in the region and maintaining the nuclear agreement and all the interests of the two countries and peoples of the region, the statement added.
Zarif's visit to Baghdad comes days after Abdul-Mahdi sent delegations to Tehran and Washington in an effort from his government to defuse the worsening crisis between the two countries.
