AMMAN, May 23 (KUNA) -- Jordanian King Abdullah II, Iraqi President Barham Salih and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas underscored the importance of helping the Palestinian people regain their legitimate rights, notably the right to statehood.
During their summit meeting here on Thursday, the three leaders discussed a range of regional issues and ways to enhance security and stability across the Arab countries, according to a statement by the Jordanian Royal Court.
They agreed to continue consultation on ways to enable the Palestinian people to establish their independent state within the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital city.
The tripartite meeting followed separate meetings earlier today between King Abdullah II, on one hand, and the Iraqi and Palestinian leaders, on the other. (end) ab.gb
