Saudi Arabia doesn't want war but will retaliate against threats - FM

RIYADH, May 19 (KUNA) -- Saudi Arabia does not want war in the region but will retaliate decisively against any threat, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Adel Al-Jubeir said late Saturday.
"Saudi Arabia does not want a war in the region," Al-Jubeir told a news conference, but "if the other party selects war, Saudi Arabia will retaliate decisively against any threat." He made the remarks after Riyadh called for two urgent Gulf and Arab summits in Makkah on May 30 to discuss regional repercussions of recent attacks on Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
"We hope the Iranian regime be wise and refrain from hostile acts," said Al-Jubeir, who also hoped Tehran and "its proxies will prevent the region the risks." He urged the international community to force Iran prevent "disruption of international order". (end) bs
