KUWAIT, May 14 (KUNA) -- National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim said Tuesday a grilling motion against His Highness Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah would be taken to the legislative committee to look into its constitutionality.
Speaking at parliament following a relevant secret session, the speaker said: "His Highness the Prime Minister has asked for referring the query request to the parliamentary legislative committee to decide whether it is constitutional. The assembly has consented to the request." "The National Assembly has considered and then okayed the government's request for an in-camera session. It then looked into the interpellation itself," the speaker added.
The session was held in camera at the behest of Minister of Justice and Minister of State for National Assembly Affairs Fahad Al-Afasi.
The grilling motion against His Highness the Prime Minister includes claims about lack of government policies, conflicting retrenchment plans and failure to defend national identity. (end) jy.ns.mt
