KUWAIT, April 25 (KUNA) -- 1960 -- Kuwait joins the International Civil Aviation Organization.
1961 -- The Department of Electricity and Water announces the discovery of pure water in the Rawdhtain area, estimated to span an area of 50 square kilometers.
1976 -- An Amiri decree is issued for the establishment of the Kuwaiti Melamine Industries Company, with a capital of approximately KD four million.
1976 -- The Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Salem Alآ­Sabah issues law 20/1976 against trade fraud.
1982 -- The Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah issues a law on the establishment of a civil information system.
1987 -- Kuwaiti Karate Federation is established.
1995 -- The National Assembly unanimously approves a draft proposal to amend the Narcotics Law by imposing capital punishment on drug traffickers.
2001 -- National Assembly passes KD 50 salary increase, a KD 20 increase every three years for retirees.
2001 -- Kuwait wins Gulf squash championship for individual competitions in Doha.
2004 -- Central Bank of Kuwait lifts state warranty for depositors' rights at local banks.
2005 -- Ministry of Communications inaugurates the first conference on eآ­crime.
2007 -- Kazma sports club wins 9th Late Mohammad Abdelmohsen Al-Kharafi football event for the second time in its history.
2008 -- Kuwait Radio wins two gold awards during Gulf Radio and TV Festival held in Bahrain.
2009 -- Qadsiya Club wins first class soccer clubs tourney after a tie in a final match against Kuwait Club.
2011 -- Kuwait wins three gold, two silver and two bronze medals in Arab Shooting Championship.
2011 -- Kuwaiti historian Anwar Al-Refaai finds a historical document proving that Kuwait had existed before 1611.
2015 -- Kuwait comes in first place at the 2015 International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) Challenge Cup of Asia, Division I, which was held in Kuwait City.
2017 -- Kuwait wins Asian Ice Hockey Championship (2017) after beating Oman.
2018 -- Kuwait asks the Philippine ambassador to leave the country in a week's time and recalls its ambassador from the Philippines for breaking diplomatic norms after helping a Phillippe housekeeper flee the country. (end) mt
