Kuwait hosts 102nd OAPEC ministerial meeting on April 27

By Osama Jalal KUWAIT, April 23 (KUNA) -- The Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC) will hold its 102nd meeting at the level of ministerial representatives on April 27 in Kuwait, said Secretary General Abbas Al-Naqi on Tuesday.
In a press statement to KUNA, Al-Naqi said the upcoming meeting will be chaired by the Kingdom of Bahrain, and will discuss topics related to the work and activities of the Organization, including the ratification of its final accounts.
The meeting will also discuss activities of OAPEC's General Secretariat during the first quarter of 2019, including global oil status, environment, climate change and the meeting of the Arab League.
It is further expected that reviews on improving performance in subsequent petroleum industries, and the petroleum media agreement that was signed between OAPEC and the GCC countries in March 2019, to be discussed.
Regarding studies made by OAPEC, Al-Naqi noted that during the first quarter of 2019, the Organization completed four studies, namely energy consumption in Kuwait, the role of improved oil investment, water treatment and renewable energies.
The 102nd meeting will be preceded by the 153th meeting of the Executive Bureau on April 25-26. (end) osj.nhq
