KUWAIT, April 20 (KUNA) -- National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim headed a Kuwaiti parliamentary delegation to Baghdad on Saturday to participate in the conference of Parliaments of Iraq's neighboring countries, as part of a tour also includes Russia.
Al-Ghanim was seen off by Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Issa Al-Kandari, Minister of Justice, Minister of State for National Assembly Affairs, Advisor Dr. Fahad Al-Afasi, Secretary General of the National Assembly Allam Al-Kandari, Iraqi Ambassador to Kuwait Alaa Al-Hashemi and Russian Ambassador to Kuwait Nikolai Makarov.
Al-Ghanim will deliver on behalf of the Kuwaiti delegation a speech at the conference to be held later today under the title "Iraq: stability and development".
After Baghdad trip, Al-Ghanim and his accompanying delegation will travel to the Russian capital Moscow for a three-day official visit at the invitation of the head of the Federal Council, Valentina Matviyenko.
During his visit to Moscow, Al-Ghanim will hold official talks with Matviyenko as well as the meeting of Deputy State Duma deputy Sergei Ivanovich Nervov. (end)
