Pompeo, Hunt discuss key global priorities

WASHINGTON, April 19 (KUNA) -- US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo spoke with UK Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt to discuss key global priorities, including "resolving the conflicts in Libya and Yemen," the Department of State announced Friday.
On Libya, Pompeo and his British counterpart "reaffirmed their commitment to continue diplomatic efforts to achieve a freeze on the ground and a return to the political process," the Department Spokesperson Morgan Ortagus said in a statement.
On Yemen, both sides reiterated their support for UN Special Envoy Martin Griffiths and agreed that "all parties must make good on the commitments they made in Sweden to allow the political process to move forward." They reaffirmed commitment "to strengthening the US-UK Special Relationship and cooperation in the face of major global challenges," and discussed "ensuring the security of critical infrastructure, including 5G," the statement added.
