Dozens of Palestinians injured by Israeli fire at Gaza border

GAZA, April 19 (KUNA) -- At least 37 Palestinian people were wounded by the Israeli occupation forces during the 55th wave of the Great March of Return along the eastern borders of Gaza Strip, on Friday.
The injured include five medics and four journalists, Spokesman of the Palestinian Health Ministry Ashraf Al-Qedra said in a press statement.
He added that an ambulance belonging to Palestine Red Crescent Society was damaged by the Israeli forces in eastern Khan Yunis.
Meanwhile, the Higher National Commission of Great March of Return and Breaking of Siege on Gaza Strip stressed the continuation of the protests to lift the blockade peacefully.
It warned the Israeli occupation authorities against procrastinating the implementation of understandings with the Egyptian side pertaining to end the siege on the Strip.
The commission called on Palestinian people to go on partaking in the marches of return, saying demands have not met yet.
It expressed absolute rejection of the US plan called the "deal of the century" that targets Palestine and the Arab region, and the US decision to recognize Israel's sovereignty over the occupied Syrian Golan Heights.
It stressed the need to restore the national unity and end the split as well as rebuild and develop Palestine Liberation Organization to resist the deal.
Since March 30, 2018, up to 272 Palestinian people were killed and more than 16,722 others wounded, according to the ministry. (end) wab.hm
