Paris, Washington fully share common view on Libyan situation - France

PARIS, April 19 (KUNA) -- The French and American governments have "complete commonality of views" on the situation in Libya and the need to end that crisis rapidly, the French Foreign Ministry said late Thursday.
The Libyan situation was discussed in a telephone conversation Thursday between French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian and US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, a statement issued in Paris indicated.
"The two ministers noted that a complete commonality of views existed between them and they want a rapid cease-fire as well as a resumption of the political process, without delay, under the authority of the United Nations," the statement revealed.
Pompeo also offered his own and country's solidarity with France after the devastating fire at Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris on Monday and Le Drian indicated that a special appointee was being put in place to handle all the support coming from outside of France. (end) jk.ibi
