Kuwait Embassy Acting Charge d'Affaires Falah Al-Hajraf hands humanitarian assistance to Iranians
TEHRAN, April 18 (KUNA) -- Iranians have welcomed a Kuwaiti humanitarian mission currently providing assistance to victims of heavy flash floods in the southwestern city of Ahvaz, a Kuwaiti diplomat said on Thursday.
"We sensed a lot of gratitude and appreciation for the food supplies and humanitarian efforts led by His Highness the Amir and granted by Kuwait," said Kuwait Embassy Acting Charge d'Affaires Falah Al-Hajraf.
"The size of the areas inundated by the flash floods are massive and need ample time for the water to subside," he expected.
Kuwait Red Crescent has dispatched an air shipment of assistance weighing 80 tonnes, most of which targeted Khozestan, one of the most severely affected provinces.
The assistance was made possible thanks to the personal directions of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. (pickup previous)
