Lebanon refers five Syrians to prosecution on terror charges

BEIRUT, April 11 (KUNA) -- The Lebanese army referred on Thursday five Syrian people to the prosecution on charges of association with the so-called Islamic State (IS) and some other terrorist organizations in Arsal town, northeast Lebanon.
The five persons provided logistical support for these organizations to attack some units of the army in 2014, the army's intelligence directorate said in a statement.
They also joined a terrorist cell affiliated to these organizations to monitor and recruit citizens close to Lebanese security services.
The cell kidnapped and liquidated a number of these citizens in 2014, 2015 and 2016.
Also, Mona Ibrahim Mothlaj was referred to prosecution on charges of belonging to the so-called Islamic State (IS).
The statement pointed out that she recruited some people and urged them to move to Syria and fight beside the IS militants there. (end) kbs.mmj.hm
