RABAT, April 8 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's Ambassador to Morocco Abdullatif Al-Yahya stressed on Monday that the Kuwaiti-Moroccan Higher Joint Committee' meeting, due in Kuwait Tuesday, is an occasion to boost bilateral cooperation in various fields.
In a statement to KUNA, Al-Yahya said that the two countries are seeking to boost bilateral cooperation, especially in the economic field, pointing out that there are opportunities and important areas to be invested to increase the volume of cooperation between them.
Al-Yahya affirmed that Kuwait is one of the countries that support Morocco and contribute to its development through many important investments in various sectors, especially those that Morocco is betting on to develop its economy as well as soft loans aimed mainly at strengthening its infrastructure.
He pointed out that there are special investments for Kuwaiti businessmen and contractors in Morocco, especially in the fields of tourism and real estate.
The ambassador expressed hope to increase the volume of cooperation between the two countries especially in the economic and trade fields, noting that holding the work of the joint high committee constitutes an opportunity to evaluate bilateral cooperation and discuss ways and means of activating the agreements concluded.
For his part, the Moroccan prime minister stressed the depth of the brotherly relations between Morocco and Kuwait under the wise leadership of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and King Mohammad VI.
He expressed his country's keenness to raise the level of relations between the two countries to the desired level through the establishment of a strategic partnership covering the various areas of political, economic, trade and others.
The Kuwaiti-Moroccan Higher Joint Committee is due to meet on Tuesday in Kuwait under the chairmanship of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and the Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Nasser Bourita. (end)
