KUWAIT, April 6 (KUNA) -- Kuwait has participated in the tenth cultural festival held by The University of West Bohemia in Pilsen, Czech Republic, highlighting the cultures and history of Arab nations.
Director of the Kuwait Information Ministry's Department of the GCC Media Affairs Mohammad Al-Badah, who headed the delegation of the ministry participating in the festival, said in a statement Saturday, that the aim of the festival is to introduce the Arabic culture to the Czech public and university students.
The delegation of the ministry participating in the festival, which included Haya Buresly, worked to highlight the literary, cultural, scientific and historical aspects of Kuwait through various publications that show these aspects, he said.
The festival also witnessed a number of documentary films about Kuwait, including a film about His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah "Humanitarian Leader" and Kuwait "Humanitarian Center", he added.
For his part, Kuwait's Ambassador to the Czech Republic Rashed Al-Hajri stressed at the opening ceremony of the festival Kuwait's keenness to communicate and build bridges with Czech media and cultural institutions to identify the cultural and historical heritage of Kuwait.
The opening ceremony of the festival was attended by the dean of the University of West Bohemia and Deputy Mayor of Yelzen and a number of ambassadors and academics. (end) aah.ss
