WASHINGTON, March 23 (KUNA) -- US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has discussed with with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg plans for the meeting of NATO Foreign Ministers due April 3-4 in the nation's capital.
State Department Deputy Spokesperson Robert Palladino said in a statement that the allies, during the meeting, "will mark the 70th anniversary of NATO's founding and take stock of the alliance's efforts to address the full range of challenges" facing it.
Palladino added that Pompeo and NATO's chief, during the Friday phone contact, also discussed "the Secretary General's planned address to a joint session of the U.S. Congress and the value of that event in highlighting the enduring transatlantic bond." (end)
