WASHINGTON, March 22 (KUNA) -- US Special counsel Robert Mueller has completed his over two-year long investigation of Russian interference in the US 2016 presidential elections and delivered his report to Attorney General William Barr on Friday.
In a letter to Congress, Barr affirmed that Mueller has submitted to him "a confidential report explaining the prosecution or declination decisions" he has reached.
The letter added that that he is "reviewing the report and anticipate" that he "may be in a position" to provide Congress of the "special counsel's principal conclusions as soon as this weekend.
Meanwhile, White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said in a statement "the next steps are up to Attorney General Barr, and we look forward to the process taking its course."
The statement added "White House has not received or been briefed on the Special Counsel's report." (end)
