KUWAIT, March 21 (KUNA) -- Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Mohammad Al-Jabri congratulated the Kuwaiti team on snatching 22 medals at the Special Olympics World Games Abu Dhabi 2019.
Speaking to KUNA on Thursday, Al-Jabri lauded the Kuwaiti athletes' performance, which enabled them to gain 22 medals: Seven gold, eight silver and seven bronze.
He also praised efforts made by these athletes to represent their homeland at the championship, which kicked off on March 14 and came to a close earlier in the day.
He said that what has been achieved was fruit of training and efforts made by athletes and trainers to show an honorable and ideal image of Kuwait's sports and raise its name at international arenas.
The competition featured 7,500 male and female athletes, 3,000 trainers, 1,300 referees and 24 sports. (end)
