KUWAIT, March 20 (KUNA) -- The National Assembly turned down Wednesday requests by the public prosecution to strip MPs Asker Al-Enezi and Shuaib Al-Muwaizri of parliamentary immunity.
During parliament's session, the vast majority of MPs present voted not to lift immunity from Al-Enezi, who was accused of involvement in misdemeanor cases. A total of 27 out of 39 MPs voted against stripping him of the immunity and only 12 voted for lifting it.
Meanwhile, 28 out of 39 MPs present voted against lifting the immunity from Al-Muwaizri and 11 voted for removing it. (end) ns.td.aas.bb
