Yemen praises Kuwait relief work, aid to Yemeni people

KUWAIT, March 18 (KUNA) -- Yemeni Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Dr. Najeeb Al-Ouaj hailed on Monday Kuwait vital, vast aid and humanitarian efforts to his country in various sectors.
In a statement to KUNA, after meeting with a delegation from Kuwaiti Red Crescent Society (KRCS) headed by its Deputy Director Anwar Al-Hasawi, Al-Ouaj said Kuwait tremendous work in Yemen has eased the suffering of the People and contributed to a better life there.
Kuwaiti swift response and support to the Yemeni people is clear evidence of the depth of the vision of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, based on clear humanitarian stands, Al-Ouaj added.
The minister said that KRCS programs were praised by the Yemeni authorities and the humanitarian organizations working there, noting that efforts of Kuwait Red Crescent are visible around the world.
Al-Ouaj said that during the meeting, they discussed all necessary needs to the most important services in the field of education, health and food security, in addition to drilling wells and special projects for the Yemeni with special needs in all Yemeni governorates.
For his part, Al-Hasawi welcomed the visit by the minister and briefed the accompanying delegation on KRCS efforts at all international arenas, especially in Yemen.
Al-Hasawi said that KRCS provided the Yemeni people with many services and assistance in the areas of relief, water, sanitation, shelter, health care, development, orphans care and support of health centers with medical equipment.
He added that the current situation in Yemen requires steps aimed at achieving a qualitative leap in relief efforts and providing greater care for the Yemeni brothers affected by the current crisis. (end) zkh.mb
