BRUSSELS, March 14 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah met on Thursday with UN Special Envoy for Syria Geir Pedersen, on the sidelines of the third Brussels Conference on Supporting the Future of Syria and the Region.
During the meeting, they reviewed the latest developments in Syria and updates on international efforts aimed at finding a political solution to the crisis in Syria.
Sheikh Sabah Khaled reiterated Kuwait's support for Pederson's efforts to restore security and stability in Syria.
Pederson thanked Kuwait for standing by Syria since the outbreak of the crisis, admiring its contributions to alleviating the suffering in Syria.
The meeting was attended by Kuwaiti officials and diplomats, namely Deputy Assistant Foreign Minister for the Office of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Saleh Al-Logani, Kuwait's Ambassador to Belgium and Head of Missions to the European Union and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Jassem Al-Badawi, Assistant Foreign Minister for International Organizations Ambassador Nasser Al-Hayyen.
Separately, Sheikh Sabah Khaled met with Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Al-Hariri, discussing bilateral relations and issues of common interest. He had also discussed identical topics with another meeting with his Jordanian counterpart, Ayman Al-Safadi. (end) kda.lr
