RABAT, March 9 (KUNA) -- The Meknes Festival for Drama TV announced Kuwait would be a guest of honor in the 8th edition of the festival, due on March 15-20, which would feature Arab actors, actresses and academics.
Mahmoud Belhassan, Founder and Director of the Festival, told KUNA Saturday the festival aimed at boosting the cultural scene of the drama works displayed at TV.
The festival is keen on presenting distinguished Moroccan, Arab and Western works.
Kuwait is taking part for the first time as a guest of honor, he said. "We know that Kuwait has a vast experience in drama production," he added.
Kuwait, said Belhassan, had an experience in joint production with Syria and Egypt, in addition to the common production along with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) members.
Kuwait will be presenting Al-Berwaz, or the Frame, at the opening ceremony. Al-Berwaz was produced in 2017 and directed by Ahmad Al-Badri. Faisal Al-Mutlaqqem, Information Ministry's Assistant Undersecretary for external media, would lead Kuwait's delegation to the festival.
The Meknes Festival will feature participation of at least 200 people from Egypt, Germany, France, Belgium and Ivory Coast.
The festival, which will show 10 movies and 11 series, will honor leading Moroccan actress Rachida Al-Harraq, and late actor Aziz Mawhoob. (end) jn.bs
