CAIRO, Feb 23 (KUNA) -- Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz said Saturday there were "numerous and dangerous" challenges facing the Arab national security, calling for doubling of counter-terrorism efforts.
King Salman made the remarks during a meeting with Egyptian Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouli in the Egyptian Red Sea resort of Sharm El-Sheikh, on eve of a summit meeting between the European Union (EU) and the Arab League, due tomorrow Sunday, official MENA news agency reported.
The Saudi Monarch called for maintaining solidarity between Egypt and Saudi Arabia because it would be for the best interest of the Arabs and Muslims.
King Salman said he was looking forward to further cement cooperation with Egypt in all domains.
He meanwhile strongly condemned all terrorist acts in Egypt and said Saudi Arabia was ready to assist Cairo in its fight against terrorism.
Madbouli said Egypt looked forward to taking relations and cooperation with Saudi Arabia to new heights. (end) esm.bs
