Indonesian VP extols ties with Kuwait

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 23 (KUNA) -- Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia Jusuf Kalla has commended relations with Kuwait in all fields, describing them as "good".
This came in a speech delivered by Kalla during an opening ceremony of Al-Wafa University in the Indonesian region of Cileungsi.
The university's cost was estimated at USD five million, while the Kuwaiti Mercy "Rahma" International Association collected about 75 percent of the total sum from the Kuwaiti donors.
Kalla said that Kuwait as a friendly country has contributed to the development of Indonesia's educational institutions.
He noted that the inauguration of this university by Kuwaitis' funding has been highly appreciated by Indonesian people.
Meanwhile, Kuwait's Ambassador to Indonesia Abdullah Al-Saqr expressed his gratitude and appreciation to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, a Humanitarian Leader, for supporting such good acts. He evaluated efforts by the association and the Kuwaiti donors in establishing this educational edifice, thanking also Kalla for attending the ceremony.
Al-Saqr hoped that Indonesian people would benefit from Kuwait's humanitarian contributions so as to make further progress in Indonesia's educational sector. The university was built on 70,000 square meters, and included 20 facilities of colleges, housing units for students, restaurants and others to accommodate 1500 students. (end) aab.mmj.hm
